Habitat Solutions

Jake Ehlinger is a lifelong outdoorsman and bow hunter. I met Jake 7 years ago after taking a skull to  his European skull mount taxidermy business. Jake’s Skull mounts are the best in the business and I would not dream of taking my taxidermy skull mounts any place else. Jake is not only a respected man to do business with, he is also loads of fun, and has a pleasurable outgoing personality.
But in addition to his very successful skull mount business, Jake has another talent which is habitat manipulation. Habitat manipulation is where you alter the existing deer habitat to attract more deer to your property, by creating excellent holding cover for them, planting food plots in strategic places for them, create sanctuary bedding areas. The end result is more deer on your property, and healthier deer as well.
Just recently Jake invited a friend and I to come and scout for educational purposes and to see for ourselves what he had done with his 66 acres of property as a 35+ year hunting veteran. I must say my diagnosis on what he has created on his property for the deer is nothing short of amazing. I learned more about a different angle or approach to hunting deer, in one day than I had learned in life time of doing things my way. As we scouted I was amazed at his knowledge of tree type, yearly or biyearly crop mast. I don’t think we passed a single tree, bush, shrub, grass or bud that he could not identify, and how to plant different species of food plots, grasses, etc, to complement what was already there.

I have been in the woods my whole life and had no idea what half the stuff we were seeing was, and no Idea how it related to deer. I found myself fascinated and a whole new dimension to my hunting took place in a single day with this outstanding outdoorsman. Jake is a master at what he does and has been involved in habitat manipulation for over 30 years.

I don’t give reviews for a person or their hunting products very often, but Jake has more than exceeded my expectations as a man, outdoorsman, hunter, business man, and his passion for doing things right in his habitat business to help people and their deer herd. Jake is also active in his local co-op deer management program to grow bigger bucks, and is a strong believer in letting small bucks grow up to maturity. I can give no higher recommendation to Jakes potential customers. He is honest, passionate, and a true master at what he does. To contact Jake, click on his link below.
